Travelling to watch your country at the 2026 World Cup is not cheap, as one England fan has found out.
Ticket prices for matches alone can reach over $1,000, with the final itself potentially costing over $4,000 to watch if you buy a ticket from FIFA directly.
But one fan has now been asked to pay an extra $4,000 just to travel to a match, he has revealed on social media.

Coach company want extra $4,000 from England fan
The fan in question says he paid $7,000 for three coaches to watch England in action against Ghana later this month.
However, he has now been informed that the coach firm he used to book the travel wants an extra $4,000 due to ‘capacity issues’.
He explained: “4 months ago I booked 3 coaches for $7k to transport fans from downtown Boston to Eng v Ghana. Contracts signed/ paid. 156 fans paid me, saving money on absurd train fare.
“Now 10 DAYS before match, the coach firm said they had ‘capacity issues’ & have asked for $4k extra.”
This is not the first time that England fans have been left stung by prices in the United States this month.
In the lead-up to the World Cup, Thomas Tuchel’s side faced off with New Zealand in a friendly meeting.
During that game, a social media post showing the price of beer at the game went pretty viral.
It showed that a ‘premium beer’ cost $18 (around £13.44), while a domestic beer cost $16.75 (around £12.50).
It’s safe to say that football, a sport built by the working class, is increasingly becoming less and less affordable, especially around big events.
