Torino

Their recent exploits may have been less than glorious, but Torino have a rich history. They were founded in 1906 and won their first of seven Scudetti in 1928. Their 1943 success was the start of the Grande Torino who won five successive titles and boasted almost all of the greatest players in Italy. Tragedy struck on May 4, 1949 when the team's plane crashed in the hills of Superga near Turin on the way back from Lisbon with no survivors. It took Torino until 1976 to win another emotional Scudetto and they haven't won it since although they did reach the 1992 UEFA Cup final.
