Ally McCoist has warned Arsenal about the havoc that would be caused if they broke their financial structure to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s wantaway superstar, Kylian Mbappe.
The former Scotland striker stated that, if he was in Arsenal’s shoes, he simply wouldn’t do it because it would then result in other players wanting a rise in wages.
Of course, if Arsenal, who are pushing for the Premier League title, had the financial capability to sign the PSG superstar, then they shouldn’t hesitate.
But Ally McCoist thinks that just simply isn’t the case and the 25-year-old would cause more issues than joy for the club, as he told talkSPORT (14/02/24 at 8:50 pm).
The award-winning pundit also surprisingly stated that he doesn’t think Arsenal would win the Premier League title with Kylian Mbappe because of the might of Manchester City.
That’s very debatable and a point many would probably disagree with, even Manchester City’s very own goalscoring machine Erling Haaland, who labelled the World Cup winner as ‘phenomenal’.
Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher have already had their say on Kylian Mbappe’s possibly moving to the Emirates, with Ally McCoist now providing his pennies worth.
Kylian Mbappe to Arsenal
“No chance,” said McCoist on whether Arsenal should break their financial structure to sign Mbappe.
“Not only would you break it. You would have to absolutely obliterate it and destroy it. Once you do that, you know what’s happening.
“There are knocks on the door. Well, he is on this and I am only on a quarter of that. I have scored this many goals and I am worth this to the team.
“Player, you better believe he is. Tremendous player. I will never forget watching that World Cup final hat-trick live. One of the highlights of my career.
If Mbappe landed at Arsenal would they be favourites to win the PL: “No, I wouldn’t,” responded McCoist. “I would still make Man City. I love the guy. I think he is a tremendous player. He is one of these guys. I probably would like to see him move. I am not sure about the power he has there and I only think there is one club he has the opportunity to go to and that’s Real Madrid. That’s the only one.”

Kylian Mbappe is Real Madrid-bound
Sources have told HITC Football that Mbappe has informed PSG he will leave the club at the end of the season, with Real Madrid his next destination.
This shouldn’t be a surprise because for a long time now there has been talk of the speedster leaving his home city and moving on to bigger and better things.
Many are probably surprised that it hasn’t happened yet, but it seems as though it will now finally go ahead.
Of course, the pessimistic Real Madrid fans won’t believe it until it actually happens because it wasn’t so long ago that he was signing a new contract with PSG.
