It would take someone special to emulate and possibly overtake the legendary status Thierry Henry built during his trophy-winning dominance at Arsenal.
Perhaps that player is a certain Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Kylian Mbappe?!
Every transfer window, there seems to be talk of the 25-year-old leaving Paris and joining Real Madrid, but in the end, he just signs a new contract.
Well, the future of one of the world’s best was discussed by Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher on Wednesday night after his goal helped PSG secure a first-leg 2-0 lead over Real Sociedad in the Champions League.
It was suggested by presenter Kate Abdo that a move to Spain for Kylian Mbappe might not be as straightforward as people think, as she also threw in the names of Liverpool and Arsenal into the hat, whilst speaking to CBS Sports on Paramount+ (14/02/24 at 10:20 pm).
Whilst Jamie Carragher had a grin on his face at the mention of Liverpool, he was left shocked when he heard Arsenal’s name, before being told to ‘Google it’.
With the legendary Thierry Henry sitting next to him, he proceeded to browse the internet and then found a headline which read, ‘Kylian Mbappe wants Arsenal transfer to become the next Thierry Henry’.
All eyes then turned to the man himself, but he responded in a blunt fashion by asking ‘why are you looking at me for?’, before refusing to answer where he thinks Kylian Mbappe’s next destination will be.
Kylian Mbappe to Arsenal?
“I think widely the feeling in football is that he will no longer be at PSG next season, but rather at Real Madrid,” said Abdo.
“But I guess that’s a big question still. There is no confirmation officially of whether he will be going to Spain and Real Madrid. There has been talk of Liverpool, Jamie. There has been talk of him following in the foots of another French great and going to Arsenal.”
Carragher reacted in shock: “What?!” To which Abdo responded: “That has been mentioned.” And Carragher then asked, “By who?”
The Liverpool legend is then told to ‘Google it’ and he proceeds to pick up his phone and check.
Carragher then reads from Google: “Kylian Mbappe wants Arsenal transfer to become the next Thierry Henry.”
Thierry Henry’s response: “Why are you looking at me for?” He is then asked about the PSG star’s next move: “I don’t know really. I don’t have those insights.”

Surely Real Madrid…
For so long, the World Cup winner has been touted to make a move to the biggest club side in the world, Real Madrid, sources have told HITC Football a move will happen.
But at the age of 25, he is still in Paris colours and talk of Real Madrid just continues. You would think something will give sooner rather than later.
The one big advantage the English Premier League has is money. Yes, Madrid are huge and they too have the finances to offer.
But the big boys in England will feel they can take it to ridiculous heights, so will that aid the likes of Arsenal, if they push for his signature in his summer?
Imagine after all that talk of needing a number nine and the man who enters the Arsenal building is Mbappe, it would send the fans into overdrive!
