Marc Cucurella was strongly linked with moves away from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, and it seems that the Blues are determined to get rid of the left-back.

Chelsea signed Marc Cucurella from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2022.

Marc Cucurella has not been great at Chelsea

Much was expected of Cucurella when he moved to Chelsea, but the Spain international has failed to make the impact that many thought that he would.

The left-back made 21 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea last season.

Cucurella also made four starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the London club last campaign.

In the summer transfer window, the left-back was strongly linked with moves away from Chelsea.

The London Evening Standard reported that Manchester United wanted to sign Cucurella, but the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners brought in Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur instead.

Cucurella was linked with Newcastle United as well, but no move materialised.

The £175,000-a-week (Spotrac) Spain international left-back is still at Chelsea, but he may not be at Stamford Bridge for long.

Chelsea want to get rid of Marc Cucurella

According to 90min, Chelsea want to get rid of the left-back and are “keen to sell Cucurella at the next available opportunity”.

That means that the Blues could try to offload the Spaniard when the transfer window opens in January.

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino does not seem to have Cucurella in his plans.

The Chelsea no. 3 has not made a single appearance in the Premier League so far and has played once in the Carabao Cup this season.

Chelsea reportedly want to sign Italy international left wing-back Federico Dimarco from Inter Milan.
