Tottenham Hotspur are now actively trying to bring Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to 90min, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Barcelona over signing Franck Kessie in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have reportedly made enquiries to Barcelona over a potential deal for the 26-year-old midfielder.

Juventus are interested in Kessie and so are clubs in Saudi Arabia.

90min has added that the former AC Milan star himself is open to leaving Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur

In our opinion, Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

Kessie is a very good and capable central midfielder who can hold his own in the middle of the park and can be a presence.

The former AC Milan star, who was described as a “very special” and a “very, very good” player by former Chelsea star Pat Nevin on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport in December 2021, can also drive the team forward.

The Ivory Coast international won the La Liga title with Barcelona last season and the Serie A title with AC Milan in 2022.

And he is only 26.

Kessie’s best years are ahead of him.

Although Tottenham will not play in the UEFA Champions League next season, they are a big and established club in the Premier League that will challenge for the top four.

There is speculation that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could leave Tottenham for Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Kessie could replace Hojbjerg in the Tottenham team.

The Ivorian star made seven starts and 21 substitute appearances in La Liga for Barcelona last season.

Kessie scored one goal and gave one assist in those games.

The midfielder made three starts and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Barcelona last season.

Kessie scored one goal in those matches.

The Ivorian star also played twice in the UEFA Europa League for Xavi’s side last campaign.
