Ibrahim Affelay believes that Arne Slot is destined to become the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.
A claim was made in May that the 44-year-old would become Spurs’ No.1 target if Xabi Alonso turned down the vacancy in N17.
With the Spanish manager pledging his allegiance to Bayer Leverkusen (via Sky Sports News), it seems as if Arne Slot could well be Tottenham Hotspur-bound, as Ibrahim Affelay expects the same, as relayed by Feyenoord Pings.

Another Dutchman in Michel Vorm also claimed on Wednesday that he believes that the recently crowned-Eredivisie winner would be a ‘good fit’ for the job.
Branded as the ‘best coach in the world’ by Alireza Jahanbaksh, the reported Spurs managerial target has worked wonders in Holland.
As the rumours surrounding Arne Slot being well-placed to become the next Tottenham manager have been heating up, Ibrahim Affelay actually expects the deal to be done.

“If that club applies, you have to be a big boy to refuse. I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes then. Tottenham Hotspur is a great club, very different from Southampton or Aston Villa”, he said.
“At Feyenoord, Slot reached the maximum, he got more out than in. Do you expect him to reach the Champions League final next year?”
Fair point made about Arne Slot
While Tottenham find themselves in a mess, Ibrahim Affelay is right about how tempting it could be for Arne Slot to accept the chance to become their next manager.
Spurs are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and the honour to manage in the Premier League is enticing for any coach.
In addition, as Affelay said, there is only so much his fellow countryman could achieve at Feyenoord, which makes an exit quite likely.
Tottenham fans will be hoping and praying that their managerial situation finally comes to a resolve, with a coach of Slot’s quality potentially coming through the door.
