Wolves are not currently willing to cash in on Premier League loanee Fabio Silva despite interest from clubs in Spain, England, Turkey and Italy in the PSV Eindhoven striker.
It’s fair to say Fabio Silva wasn’t exactly set up to succeed at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He was only 18 years of age, and had barely played a single senior game, when he arrived for a club-record £35 million. And, while Wolves may have planned to field Silva in the reserves before drip-feeding him into the starting XI, that horror injury to Raul Jimenez just weeks into 2020/21 forced Nuno Espirito Santo’s hand.

Does Fabio Silva have a future at Wolves?
Now closing in on his 21st birthday, a couple of loan spells away from Molineux have done Silva the world of good.
He’s scored 17 goals during stints at Anderlecht and PSV this term. Silva joined the Eredivisie giants in January. And, while it will not count towards his end-of-season tally, he will always be the man who scored the winning penalty during PSV’s Dutch Cup final triumph over bitter rivals Ajax.
PSV have made no secret of their desire to extend Silva’s loan. The player himself is keen on the idea too; relishing the prospect of learning under one of the 21st century’s most lethal marksmen in Manchester United icon Ruud van Nistelrooy.
“I don’t know yet what will happen next season,” Silva tells Voetbal Primeur. “I’m enjoying every moment at PSV, and I feel valued. I would like to stay here.
“After this season, it will be time to talk about it.”
“It was already the intention. I wanted to sign Silva for longer from the start,” Van Nistelrooy adds. “Hopefully it will work out, but it remains to be seen.”
Julen Lopetegui has a decision to make
Wolves may be happy to green light another short-term departure. The Eindhoven Dagblad, however, report that PSV’s attempts to sign Silva on a permanent basis have been met with a great deal of ‘unwillingness’ from the Old Gold outfit.
The Portugal U21 international is reportedly the subject of enquires from clubs in Italy, Spain and Turkey. England too. Though it is not known whether those clubs come from the Premier League or the Championship.
It is not outside the realms of possibility, meanwhile, that Silva returns to his parent club this summer. A first-team role under Julen Lopetegui remains a possibility.
Diego Costa may not be retained when his contract expires. Fellow veteran Raul Jimenez could also be heading out of Molineux.
