Glenn Hoddle says Chelsea and Tottenham manager target Julian Nagelsmann is the ‘real deal’, but it would be a ‘slight risk’ appointing the recently-sacked Bayern Munich boss.
Both Chelsea and Tottenham are looking for a new manager after sacking Graham Potter and Antonio Conte, respectively, with suggestions that they want Julian Nagelsmann in their dugout for next season.
The 35-year-old Spurs manager target has seemingly held ‘positive’ talks with the powers that be at Chelsea, but that’s to come in for next season.

In the meantime, Chelsea are set to bring Frank Lampard back to the club, after he was sacked by relegation-threatened Everton in January.
Whilst Naglesmann was booted out by Bayern, the feeling is that he was unfairly treated, Michael Owen certainly thinks it was a ‘harsh’ call.
Despite that, his stock is still high and two of London’s biggest clubs are gunning for him, with Hoddle speaking highly about the young manager, as he told Premier League Productions (04/04/23 at 7:20 pm).
“He has managed Bayern Munich, where he has got the sack, as you just said there,” said Hoddle. “Bayern are as big as any club in the world.
“So, dealing with top players and egos, or whatever, I think he’s going to be okay. But if he comes in the summer, then there has to be a fire sale at Chelsea, to a certain degree. They have to get rid of some of them players, without a doubt.
“On paper, what he has done in his career, he looks like the real deal. But then you have to go down the line and do it at a big club. But it hasn’t happened at Bayern, so it will be a slight risk, I would say, but I understand why they are going for him.
“He’s inventive and he’s young. He has fresh ideas. But it’s about getting results, as we all know.”

CAN TOTTENHAM AND CHELSEA SAVE THEIR SEASONS?
Champions League is the keyword. That’s what will probably save the duo’s seasons.
For Chelsea, winning it outright would just define the club and how they operate. Going from one end of the extreme to the other.
For Spurs, whilst they won’t be winning anything, they would have at least done the bare minimum, and that’s secure Champions League football for the next campaign.
