Michael Owen thinks the sacking of Chelsea and Tottenham manager target Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich was ‘very harsh’.
Despite Bayern Munich sitting top of the German league and still in the Champions League, the powers that be at the Allianz Arena decided to boot Julian Nagelsmann out of the door.
In next to no time, they appointed former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, with the man he replaced being tipped for the Stamford Bridge role, but Daniel Levy also wants him at Tottenham.

The 35-year-old is seen as a ‘big name’ in the manager world and Chris Sutton has backed the German to be Chelsea’s next permanent manager, rather than going to Spurs.
Interestingly enough, both London clubs have decided to wait until the summer before bringing somebody in, with Cristian Stellini in temporary charge of Spurs and claims that Frank Lampard is set to return to Stamford Bridge.
But when it comes to Nagelsmann, Owen thinks it was the wrong call for Bayern to sack him and he feels Chelsea’s decision to previously boot out Thomas Tuchel, now that Graham Potter only lasted seven months, is one that is coming back to ‘haunt them’, as he told Premier League Productions (04/04/23 at 7:15 pm).
“A lot of people thought he was unlucky to lose his job at Bayern Munich,” said Owen. “It was a very harsh decision from Bayern Munich’s point of view.
“I just go back to what they (Chelsea) had, they had Thomas Tuchel and he wasn’t doing a bad job himself. Getting rid of him so soon could be coming back to haunt them.”

NAGELSMANN IS PREMIER LEAGUE BOUND
Whether it’s Chelsea or Tottenham, or another team in England’s top flight, Naglesmann is Premier League-bound sooner rather than later.
There is every chance that both Chelsea and Tottenham aren’t in the Champions League next season, so from that perspective, will it be off-putting for Nagelsmann?
From Chelsea’s perspective, they can throw down the big-money squad they have at their disposal, as well as the fact that they won the Champions League a couple of seasons ago.
But, for Spurs, they won’t have much front to fight on, especially if they lost Harry Kane in the summer.
