Tottenham dropped out of the Champions League in miserable fashion last night following a 0-0 draw in N17.
Spurs only found themselves 1-0 down against AC Milan as they entered the second leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although Antonio Conte watched his side head out of the Champions League with a whimper.
In truth, it was a pathetic performance from Tottenham, and the Spurs fans expressed their frustration by chanting at the end of the game.
What’s the story?
Well, some Tottenham fans have given up on Conte, as chants in support of Mauricio Pochettino could be heard coming from the Spurs supporters towards the end of the 0-0 draw, and also after the 90 minutes had ended.
The Tottenham fans sung the following.
He’s Magic
You Know
Mauricio Pochettino
Clearly, Conte has lost the support of most fans – he also seems to have lost the dressing room somewhat, as Richarlison hit out at the Italian for leaving him on the bench last night.
The Brazil international told TNT Sport: “I didn’t understand. I was in positive moment and Conte put me on the bench again. Yesterday he tested me in the starting XI and then bench, again.”
It really does feel as if Conte’s time is up in north London, and a new era is set to start soon.
Tottenham should sack Conte after Champions League exit
According to the Daily Mail, neither Conte or Daniel Levy are interested in keeping things going when the 53-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season.

In that respect, Spurs should sack the Italian now, and give whoever Levy chooses to replace him a few months at the helm to assess Tottenham’s squad, which should help them decide who needs to be replaced.
While Conte is a professional and will continue to do the job to the best of his ability, it feels as if he has mentally checked out already, and if he is set to leave anyway this summer, Spurs should bring his departure forward to give his successor time to bed in.
