Said Hamulic is on the verge of sealing a move away from Polish outfit Stal Mielec with Celtic eyeing the £2.2 million frontman as a potential Giorgios Giakoumakis replacement, according to Weszlo.
Only the width of the crossbar denied Giakoumakis what could have been a farewell goal during Celtic’s 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday; the Greek international clipping the woodwork with a rare long-range effort after coming off the bench.
Whether that proves to be his final appearance in green and white, only time will tell. Fabrizio Romano claims that a January departure is very much on the cards; clubs in Italy, America and Japan looking to take advantage of Giakoumakis’ precarious contract situation.
Celtic, meanwhile, are not leaving anything to chance, a number of potential replacements already under consideration. One of those is Said Hamulic; the rangy Bosnia international with four goals and nine assists in 17 Ekstraklasa games.

According to Polish publication Weszlo, Hamulic is ‘close’ to leaving Stal Mielec before the February deadline; talks over his departure reaching a ‘fairly advanced stage’. Hamulic, the report adds, could even ‘complete his transfer in the coming days’.
As things stands, the identity of his potential destination remains something of a mystery. Belgian, Dutch and French clubs, in addition to Celtic, are hot on the heels of the Dutch-born, 6ft 2ins speedster (Tuttomercatoweb).
“Said is in demand in Europe. We negotiate his transfer every day. Even today, I turned down a French club,” Stal Mielec president Jacek Klimek said recently, suggesting that Hamulic’s head may have already been turned.
“We would like to keep him, but it won’t be easy. Especially since, looking at Said, you can see that from time to time his mind is already in other places.
“We expect 2.5 million euros (£2.2m) for him. And we have now received one such offer, which may soon see the light of day.”
