Celtic are ‘very interested’ in Stal Mielec striker Said Hamulic as Ange Postecoglou scours the market for a potential Giorgios Giakouamkis replacement, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Tall and powerful at 6ft 2ins, lethal in the penalty area, and a superb link-man; Hamulic certainly shares some notable similarities with Celtic’s wantaway Greek international.
The Dutch-born centre-forward might even offer the Scottish Premiership champions a different sort of dimension in the final third. Unlike Giakoumakis, who does pretty much all of his best work within the width of the posts, Hamulic is perhaps a more ‘all-round’ number nine.

Hamulic loves to drop deep before driving towards the penalty area; quicker and far more mobile than you might expect given his rangy frame. He’s excellent in the air, yes, but also a fearsome striker of a ball from long distance.
Hamulic scores his fair share of goals from outside the box.
So, with Giakoumakis ‘poised’ to leave Parkhead in January following a breakdown in negotiations over a new contract, Hamulic might not just be a replacement. He could be an upgrade; a striker who combines Giakoumakis’ predatory qualities with his own, more wide-ranging skill-set (Daily Record).
Celtic could replace Giorgos Giakoumakis with Stal Mielec striker Said Hamulic
TMW say that clubs in Italy, Belgium, France and the Netherlands are all keeping tabs on the much-coveted 22-year-old. Celtic, however, appear to be at the front of the queue.
“One thing must be confirmed: there are indeed a lot of inquiries from Poland and abroad. Scouts from all over Europe come to our every game and observe (Hamulic),” Stal Mielec president Jacek Klimek tells Nowiny24.
“We have a lot of calls. If the amount offered by the interested club is very high, and the player wants to leave at all costs, then we will have to sit down and discuss it. The interest is huge.”
Hamulic has nine goals and four assists in 17 Polish Ekstraklasa games this season. It is not certain how much Stal Mielic want for their free-scoring talisman. Goal Poland believe that the bidding must start at over one million euros..
In addition, Celtic are also keeping tabs on Slovakian international Ladislav Almasi, and South Korea’s World Cup marksman Cho Gue-Sung (Scottish Sun).
