Liverpool have now been joined by Chelsea in the race to sign Youssoufa Moukoko after Real Madrid agreed to sign Endrick.

What’s the story?

Well, the Blues were keen to sign the Palmeiras wonderkid, and even arranged for him to meet Thiago Silva at their Cobham training ground as they attempted to charm the 16-year-old.

However, Real Madrid have now agreed to sign the teenage sensation – according to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish giants will pay a total package of €72m (£62m) for the striker born in 2006.

Now, Chelsea have turned their attention to another wonderkid in Moukoko, who SPORT in Spain believe Liverpool are monitoring as his contract with Borussia Dortmund expires at the end of the season.

According to The Secret Scout – via the Express – Chelsea have now opened talks with the Germany international’s representatives, as they attempt to tie him down to a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge with the option of a sixth year.

The 18-year-old has put his name up in lights this season with six goals and four assists in 14 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Dortmund, which remarkably earned him a call-up to Germany’s World Cup squad.

According to Bild in Germany, Borussia Dortmund will sell Moukoko for £26m if it becomes apparent he has no intention of signing a new contract.

In our view, whoever wins the race to sign Moukoko could be getting themselves a future Ballon d’Or winner.

Of course, that is a huge statement to make, but the teenager’s efforts so far in his short career have been nothing short of sensational.

The Yaoundé-born prodigy amazingly scored 90 goals in just 56 appearances for Borussia Dortmund’s Under-17 side, before going on to score 47 goals in 25 outings for the Under-19 side.

Moukoko has made things look easy since stepping into senior football – the fact he is already performing at such a high level suggests he could reach frightening heights within a few years.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as a decision is expected to be made about his contract ahead of January.
