Rangers are said to be interested in signing Ryan Porteous from Hibernian, after he refused to sign a new contract.
That is according to Clyde boss Jim Duffy, who told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: “I have heard that there is a little bit of a suggestion that he may be going across the road to their (Celtic’s) greatest rivals (Rangers).”
Now, amid rumours of a move to Ibrox, old footage of Porteous has surfaced online, which shows him making a very interesting revelation.
What’s the story?
Well, the £2,700-a-week man chatted to BBC Sport back in October for a Q&A session, where he was asked a range of questions.
Porteous was asked what his favourite stadium is, to which the alleged Rangers target simply responded: “Ibrox”.
In that respect, if the opportunity to play for Rangers does arise in January, or at the end of the season, you can be sure the 23-year-old would jump at the opportunity.
Hibernian have already confirmed that their No.5 will not be signing a new contract.
Porteous has performed well so far this season, making 20 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals while also providing one assist.
The centre-back also made his debut for Scotland in September, playing 90 minutes as he helped his country keep a clean sheet in the UEFA Nations League draw against Ukraine, which finished 0-0.
Rangers must sign Ryan Porteous
In our view, Michael Beale must pounce at the opportunity to sign Porteous in January.
Rangers are currently lacking depth in the centre-back department, with 18-year-old Leon King relied on heavily during the woeful Champions League Group Stage campaign under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Furthermore, Hibernian would surely be pleased to sell Porteous for a fee in January, or else they will lose him for nothing at the end of the season.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as we could soon see Porteous playing for Rangers in his favourite stadium.
