Arsenal target Mykhaylo Mudryk will not be going to the World Cup after Ukraine failed to qualify, although that doesn’t seem to have affected him.

The 21-year-old was filmed scoring a sensational goal for Shakhtar Donetsk against Dnipro-1 today during the World Cup break, which comes after Calciomercato claimed that Edu has bid £53m for the attacking sensation.

Arsenal target Mudryk scores wondergoal

Well, the Ukraine international has already got tails wagging at the Emirates Stadium after scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in 16 appearances this season.

Now, Mikel Arteta and Edu will presumably be even more desperate to sign him.

As you can see below, Mudryk picked up the ball about 45 yards from goal earlier today, before driving past four Dnipro-1 players with real pace and strength.

The Shakhtar Donetsk No.10 then found the back of the net with a powerful strike from outside of the box, although the goalkeeper probably could’ve done better.

Nevertheless, it was yet another example of Mudryk’s star quality, which has already seen him record five goal involvements in six Champions League appearances this season.

Mudryk wants Arsenal move

In truth, we would be surprised if this move doesn’t happen – either in January, or the summer window.

Mudryk has already told Vlada Zinchenko – the wife of Oleksandr Zinchenko – that he would be upset if he isn’t allowed to leave Shakhtar Donetsk in January.

More interestingly, the Ukrainian sensation actually admitted that he would like to join the Gunners, and revealed he has taken notice of a barrage of messages from Arsenal fans asking him to come to north London.

Furthermore, Mudryk added that he has been learning English, adding more fuel to the fire.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Mudryk could become an Arsenal player as soon as January.
