Tottenham have a number of players on World Cup duty in Qatar, with Richarlison among them as he aims to shine for Brazil.
The £175,000-a-week man is expected to lead the line under Tite in Qatar, although his teammate Casemiro very nearly put his chances of doing so in danger during a training session.
Tottenham star Richarlison narrowly avoids injury
Well, Newcastle maestro Bruno Guimaraes has already suffered a knock in Brazil training as Tite is said to be encouraging intense sessions, and now Richarlison has come close to picking up an injury.
As you can see below, Casemiro went flying into a challenge on the Tottenham No.9 during training, with the striker needing to hurdle his tackle, or risk having the Manchester United stalwart’s studs embedded into his ankle.
Richarlison did not seem too fussed by the challenge, although he is not filmed getting back to his feet before the cameras cut to Neymar chasing the ball around.
In our view, the 25-year-old was lucky to avoid an ankle injury.
Casemiro doesn’t seem to care too much as he gives Richarlison a playful shove before getting back to his feet, and there is no angry reaction from the Spurs forward.
Brazil take on Serbia in their opening game of the World Cup on Thursday.
Tottenham need Richarlison confidence boost
Few things in football can boost a player’s confidence like shining for your country, and Tottenham need Richarlison to do exactly that in Qatar.

The South American has only scored two goals in 15 appearances since his £60m move from Everton, with both of those coming in the same game, a 2-0 win over Marseille.
If Antonio Conte is to guide Tottenham to FA Cup or Champions League glory, he needs Richarlison to step up and help Harry Kane. Heung-min Son also needs to find a way to rediscover his form from last season.
Hopefully, Richarlison enjoys a strong World Cup campaign, and brings plenty of confidence back to N17.
