Arsenal have submitted a bid worth €60m (£53m) to Shakhtar Donetsk for Mykhaylo Mudryk as Edu aims to beat Real Madrid to his signature.
That is according to Calciomercato in Italy, who believe the Gunners are currently awaiting a response from the Ukrainian giants, and the offer is not far away from their valuation of the 21-year-old.
Arsenal make Mudryk bid
Well, it was Ukrainian reporter Igor Tsyganyk who claimed that Arsenal or Real Madrid would be signing the Shakhtar Donetsk No.10 – now, the Gunners have made the first move.
Calciomercato believe the north Londoners have been working on a deal to sign Mudryk for months, and talks could now enter an advanced stage following an official bid.
The Italian news outlet add that Juventus are keen on the 21-year-old as well.
However, Arsenal seem to be fronting the queue for Mudryk at this stage.

Interest in the Ukraine international has intensified this season after tentative admiration in the summer, as a result of his stunning performances for Shakhtar Donetsk.
Mudryk has impressively scored eight goals while also providing seven assists in just 15 appearances.
Three of those goals – and two of those assists – have come in the Champions League of all stages, which has understandably made Europe’s elite clubs sit up and take notice.
Arsenal could turn Mudryk into a superstar
In our view, Mudryk has frightening potential.
The left winger plays in a similar way to Erling Haaland in regards to his physique and bullish dribbling style.
Mudryk is rapid, strong and can compose himself in the final third, so at the age of just 21, it is scary to think about what Mikel Arteta could turn him into at Arsenal.
The Spaniard has already developed Bukayo Saka into one of the best forwards in Europe, so there is no reason why he can’t take Mudryk to another level.
Keep an eye on this situation, as Arsenal await a response from Shakhtar Donetsk.
