Dnipro’s Ukraine international centre-forward Artem Dovbyk would fit in at Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, experienced coach Oleg Fedorchuk tells Fan Day.
Last summer, Dovbyk held talks over a potential £10 million move to Nottingham Forest. Since then, he’s scored a highly-impressive nine goals in 11 games, while Steve Cooper’s new-look, mismatch side limp along at the wrong end of the table.
Whether Forest return for Dovbyk in January remains to be seen.
Ukrainian tactician Fedorchuk certainly believes that the 6ft 2ins centre-forward is ready to take a step up the footballing ladder, wherever that may be, with Chelsea and Tottenham two clubs who could make good use of his pace and power.

Should Tottenham Hotspur really consider a move for Ukraine striker Artem Dovbyk?
“He can play in any top league, because the shortage of such players is huge,” Fedorchuk explains. “It all depends on the style of the team. Arsenal and Man City’s style of ball control is unlikely to suit Dovbyk. But the more forceful style of Chelsea and Tottenham (is a better fit).
“I think the potential price of Dovbyk is around 20-25 million euros. He was the best attacking player in the league (last year). He’s also the number one player this season. (He has) a lot of speed, outstanding physical strength and a good left foot.”
Since the start of last term, Dovbyk has scored an eye-catching 23 goals in 29 games in all competitions. And there could be a space for him at a club like Spurs; Harry Kane the only natural centre-forward in Antonio Conte’s squad, even if big-money summer signing Richarlison can lead the line rather effectively.
Fedorchuk, however, has concerns about whether Dovbyk could adapt to a club who dominate possession. One who rely upon quick, incisive football in short spaces. Then again, this wouldn’t pose a problem under Conte, with Tottenham creating the majority of their chances via quick transitions.
“Dovbyk has a number of shortcomings that may scare away potential buyers,” the coach adds. “He does not adapt so well to positional team play. It is easier for him to play in open spaces in counter-attacks.”
