According to The Daily Mail, Fulham are readying a second bid for Ben Brereton Diaz.

News broke on Thursday evening that the Whites had made their move for the ‘extraordinary’ Chile international, but that first bid seemingly wasn’t enough to tempt Blackburn into selling their star man.

However, despite Rovers holding firm so far, a Deadline Day move for Brereton Diaz would make a lot of sense for all parties.

The attacker is entering the final year of his contract at Ewood Park, so the Lancashire club may well be keen to cash in, while the player surely harbours the ambition of playing in the Premier League.

Fulham would be a perfect fit for the South American too. The Whites are in desperate need of a new left-winger after a long-term injury to Manor Solomon, while the west London outfit also need cover for Aleksandar Mitrovic up front, and the 23-year-old could also provide depth in that area.

This is a move that could kill two birds with one stone for Fulham, but this transfer won’t be easy to conclude.

Blackburn are asking for big money, while there is also interest from throughout the Premier League with Leeds, Everton and Aston Villa all linked with a move for the Championship star.

Brereton Diaz stood out in the Championship last season, and while he was on the wrong end of a 7-0 loss to Fulham last year, his performances throughout the season were seemingly enough to catch the eye of the eventual champions who are now looking to bring him to Craven Cottage on Deadline Day.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we edge ever closer to this transfer window slamming shut.
