French outlet Media Foot claim Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are targeting a surprise move to sign Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker – who is also a target for Everton, with his contract due to expire in 2023.

Dendoncker, 27, has entered his fifth season at Wolves. Joining the club initially on loan back in the summer of 2018 from Belgian side Anderlecht, he signed permanently in 2019. He has clocked up 158 outings for Wolves.

Able to play as a centre-back or as a midfielder, the Belgium international’s future is in doubt. Costing Wolves a figure of £12million, Dendoncker now looks set to leave either in the next few days – or next summer on a free.

That is, of course, unless he will sign a new contract at Wolves. However, French outlet Media Foot state that PSG are considering a move. Leandro Paredes is set to join Juventus from PSG and they want to replace the Argentine.

It comes amid reports that Frank Lampard has been considering a move for the Wolves star this summer. Everton have since signed Andre Onana, but a move for Dendoncker is still on. Jorge Mendes will be central to a move.

Paris Saint-Germain targeting Wolves midfielder Dendoncker

Dendoncker is a proper player. A man that can play in defence or midfield and given his current contract situation, a real bargain. Given Wolves have spent just £12million to sign him, he could be available for a bargain fee.

Wolves will not want to lose him. Somewhat going under the radar to fans that are not of a Wolves allegiance. However, Wolves must weigh up whether it is best to sell him, or try to keep him and risk losing him on a free.

For PSG, he would only be a fringe player. It might harm his chances of getting a place in Belgium’s squad. But a move to Everton, there is no doubt he would be one of the first names on the team sheet. Interesting few days.
