Chelsea are confident of signing Anthony Gordon from Everton this week amid lingering interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues are expected to be very busy in the final days of the transfer window – especially after Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Leeds United.

Thomas Tuchel needs new faces and it looks like more attacking firepower is on the wish list for Chelsea.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Rafael Leao are two of the names wanted by Chelsea, but they seem most confident of signing Gordon.

The Blues have been chasing Gordon in recent weeks and have shown no signs of backing away from the race.

The Times now claim that Chelsea are confident of signing Gordon this week, offering a deal that will go beyond £50million including add-ons.

Sky Sports even suggest that the deal may now be worth around £60million.

Everton have stood firm so far and rejected Chelsea’s offers, the last one totalling around £45million.

However, Chelsea aren’t going anywhere and are now upping the ante once again, with real confidence from the Blues that a deal will be done.

This comes after Football London reported that Tottenham do still fancy signing Gordon after failing with a move earlier this summer.

There is surely no way that Tottenham look to pay over £50million for Gordon though, and the same goes for Newcastle United, who have also shown an interest in Gordon.

Gordon, 21, only managed four goals and two assists for Everton last season but showed real promise down the flanks for the Toffees.

Chelsea clearly believe that Gordon can become a star and are now ready to bring him to West London in the coming days.

Everton won’t want to lose their homegrown favourite, but if they can sell to bring in huge cash and reinvest in Frank Lampard’s squad, a deal may well look rather appealing.
