Tottenham Hotspur still want Anthony Gordon and are watching developments over his future at Everton amid bids from Chelsea.
Spurs have signed a couple of homegrown players this summer by adding Fraser Forster and Djed Spence to Antonio Conte’s squad.
Tottenham may still need to bring in some homegrown players for quota reasons though, and there have been links to James Garner of Manchester United as a result.
Fabio Paratici will have his sights set on other English talents too and one of them appears to be Everton winger Gordon.
Tottenham Hotspur still want Anthony Gordon
Tottenham signed Richarlison from Everton this summer but actually wanted that to be a double deal.
Sky Sports suggested that Tottenham were targeting Gordon as well, but Everton completely ruled out letting both players head to North London.
The Mirror noted that Tottenham were still keen on signing Gordon even after securing Richarlison, but that move hasn’t materialised.
Chelsea and Newcastle United have wanted to sign Gordon too, with Tottenham seemingly fading out of the race – but Spurs remain keen.
Football London report that Tottenham are still looking at Gordon and monitoring his situation at Everton.
Gordon is allegedly keen on playing for Antonio Conte and joining a Champions League club, with Tottenham a very appealing prospect.
Chelsea are the favourites for Gordon though and have already had a huge £45million bid rejected by the Toffees.
Gordon, who can play on either flank, has been hailed as ‘very explosive’ by Rafael Benitez and is Everton’s current homegrown fan favourite.
The 21-year-old notched four goals and two assists last season, which doesn’t sound all that impressive, but many see huge potential in Gordon.
It’s unlikely that Tottenham will go in with an offer around £50million to beat Chelsea in this race, but Paratici seemingly watching on in the hope of an opportunity presenting itself to Spurs.
