Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are ready to pay £60 million in total for Everton winger Anthony Gordon in the summer transfer window, according to Sky Sports.
Sky Sports have reported that Everton have previously rejected an offer of £40-£45 million bid for Gordon from Premier League rivals Chelsea this summer.
However, former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea are determined to sign the 21-year-old and are ready to pay as much as £60 million including add-ons.
Sky Sports have added that Everton’s position on Gordon is that he is not for sale.
Could Chelsea sign Anthony Gordon from Everton?
In our view, if Chelsea are willing to pay Everton £60 million in total for Anthony Gordon, then they could get a deal done before the summer transfer window closes next week.
Yes, Gordon is a homegrown Everton talent and manager Frank Lampard does need attacking players in his squad, but £60 million for a 21-year-old who has not really been particularly great and is still a raw talentwould be great business for the Toffees.
Everton could then use the money from the sale of Gordon to sign a top-quality striker.
Gordon has scored four goals and created four big chances in 52 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
