Inter Milan are set to win the race to sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer, with the Serie A giants reportedly set to land the rumoured Tottenham at a bargain transfer fee.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Nerazzurri are expected to sign Bremer for a reported €35m (£30m), a far cry from the £60m valuation Tottenham were quoted for the Brazilian defender earlier in the transfer window as Antonio Conte looks set to miss out on Bremer to his former side.

Torino always expected Bremer to leave this summer after the South American was named Serie A Defender of the Year following a breakout year for the 25-year-old titan, and now, Inter look set to sign the talented stopper over the likes of Tottenham, with Arsenal and Liverpool also linked with the centre-back.

Moreover, Inter look to have won the race for the defender at an incredible price, with £30m a bargain deal for a player who is just coming off his best ever season in of Europe’s top leagues, with Bremer set to replace Milan Skriniar in the starting XI.

The Slovakian centre-back, another target for Tottenham according to reports, has been in talks with PSG for the majority of the summer, and Inter closing in on the signing of Bremer could give the French giants the extra push they need to secure the Serie A defender’s signature.

Indeed, this move will likely see two of Tottenham’s top defensive targets wiped off the transfer market, and whilst Conte has already signed Clement Lenglet for the season, the Italian would have wanted a top centre-back to join the north London side on a permanent deal this summer.

Inter are often one of the most active European clubs in the summer when it comes to new signings, and the pending arrival of Bremer could be one of the best deals we see this year given how cheap the reported transfer fee is for the Torino superstar.

£30m deals are common place these days, yet spending this much for one of Europe’s most outstanding defenders last season is a masterstroke from Inter, who will now beat Tottenham and other Premier League sides for the Brazilian, who could become a superstar at the San Siro next year.
