Mohamed Camara fancies joining Leeds United – but a deal for the Red Bull Salzburg midfielder now looks to be unlikely this summer.
Leeds have sold star midfielder Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City, with that deal going through on Monday.
City teenager Darko Gyabi has moved in the opposite direction, giving Leeds an exciting talent to mould for the future.
Whilst Marc Roca joined earlier this summer, Leeds still need another midfielder to replace Phillips – and two names have emerged.
Mohamed Camara fancies joining Leeds United
The first is Tyler Adams, who played under Leeds boss Jesse Marsch at New York Red Bulls and RB Leipzig.
Leeds are now close to signing Adams with the American international heading into England for a medical this week.
The other name was Camara, another player who has played under Marsch having worked together at Red Bull Salzburg.
Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten reported just days ago that Leeds would be accelerating their interest in Camara with Phillips gone.
It was suggested that Leeds would be paying €30million (£26million) to bring the Mali international to Elland Road.

The Express now claim that Camara would like to sign for Leeds and their interest in signing him has turned his head.
The problem for Camara is that Leeds are pressing ahead with a deal for Adams and look unlikely to sign both.
Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to report that Leeds won’t be bidding for Camara and have decided to go with Adams as their top target.
That means that 22-year-old Camara will seemingly miss out on his big move to Leeds, which will be frustrating for him having been so keen on the switch.
Brighton and Hove Albion still fancy signing Camara and that may now be his best route into the Premier League as Leeds prepare to sign Adams instead.
