Real Sociedad are reportedly close to signing French wonderkid Mohamed-Ali Cho, with Liverpool and Tottenham set to miss out on the 2004-born attacker.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the La Liga side are looking to wrap up a deal for the teenage attacker in the coming days, with Sociedad set to sign Cho ahead of the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, Olympique Marseille and RB Leipzig, who have all been in the race for the Angers star.

Cho set Ligue 1 alight last season after bagging four goals and catching the eye of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, with many pundits and scouts tipping the teenage attacker for stardom in the coming years. And now, Sociedad, look set to sign the forward.

A centre-forward by trade but also capable of playing out on the right, Cho is a regular at youth level for France, and his performances last season put him on the radar for the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham, with both sides keen on adding the youngster to their ranks for the coming years.

However, it now appears that Sociedad have won the race for Cho, with the Basque side one of the best clubs in La Liga for pipping major European teams to exciting young players. And for the Frenchman, a move down south could be very beneficial for his development.

Sociedad have played host to some of Europe’s best players over the years, and for Cho, La Liga as a division to develop his craft could be perfect for the youngster given the slower nature of the league compared to Ligue 1, which is a much more intense and physical competition compared to the Spanish top-flight.

Indeed, the Premier League would have been a step up for Cho with either Liverpool or Tottenham, but with Sociedad now in advanced talks to sign the teenager, it appears that Spain will be the attacker’s future home this summer once the transfer goes through.

Playing in the English top-flight is a dream for many players in Europe, and for Cho, the forward will no doubt one day star in the Premier League if the forward continues his development at Sociedad, with the La Liga side the perfect stepping stone for the Frenchman.

La Liga is a division that is currently perfect for Cho’s current game, and with Sociedad a club that prides itself in developing young players, the teenage forward will improve greatly if given the tools to succeed with the Basque giants next season.
