Celtic are already on the verge of securing their first summer signing with Hammarby defender Mohanad Jeahze bound for Parkhead.

That’s according to The Scottish Sun, who claim that Jeahze is close to finalising a £2million move.

Jeahze has decided that this is the move for him with both Celtic and Hammarby now finalising the deal.

Lech Poznań has shown an interest too but it’s Celtic who have won the race to sign Jeahze this summer.

Celtic have made their move very quickly and this means that Jeahze is able to join up with the Bhoys as soon as pre-season begins.

£2million isn’t a huge outlay and Celtic will hope that Jeahze can now really push Greg Taylor for the starting left back role.

Reports of Celtic’s interest broke in late April before Celtic scouted Jeahze again last week.

Jeahze, 25, is an attack-minded left back with an impressive two goals and 12 assists in just 56 games for Hammarby.

Whilst born in Sweden, Jeahze actually plays for Iraq on the international stage and has four caps to his name.

A big move away from Hammarby has been coming and that’s no shock to teammate Darijan Bojanic, who claims that Jeahze is ‘really class’ and ‘the best’ left back in Sweden.

This seems like a bargain for Celtic and Jeahze won’t need telling of the Swedish influence at Celtic over the years.

Henrik Larsson, Johan Mjallby and Carl Starfelt spring to mind, as does Mikael Lustig – the former Celtic defender who had a scrap with Jeahze in Sweden.

Celtic may Scottish champions this season but the work doesn’t stop, and Jeahze is likely to be just one of a number of new additions this summer with Ange Postecoglou targeting more silverware moving forward.

The focus will soon turn to permanent deals for Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota, but for now it’s all about Jeahze.
