FC Barcelona will reportedly not sign Adama Traore on a permanent deal this summer in what could be a huge boost for Tottenham, who are also chasing the winger.

According to Marca, the form of Ousmane Dembele has made those at Barcelona more interested in keeping the France international at the club rather than spending €30m (£25m) on signing Traore for good, with the on-loan Wolves star struggling for form at his boyhood side.

The Spanish international has started just three games for the La Liga side since joining in January, and with Dembele finally hitting his stride with Barcelona, it makes sense why the club are switching their focus to keeping the former Borussia Dortmund sensation.

And this news could be massive for Tottenham, with the north London side huge admirers of Traore and a player who the club have been tracking for months, with Nuno Espirito Santo pushing hard last summer to sign the powerhouse attacker.

Fast-forward to 2022 and Tottenham under Antonio Conte, and Spurs could once again be in the driving seat to sign Traore with Barcelona out of the competition to sign the Spaniard.

Labelled as ‘electric’ by Arsenal legend Martin Keown, Traore could be a fantastic addition to Tottenham in the summer, and with Barcelona no longer interested in signing the forward, Spurs could land the livewire winger at a bargain with Wolves eager to sell.

Conte looks set to go big on new signings for Tottenham this summer, and bringing in Traore after almost a year of chasing would be a huge coup for the club with Barcelona almost giving Spurs a free pass to go for the Wolves attacker.

Fast on the counter and physically imposing, Traore has the physical qualities to star for Tottenham, and under Conte, the Spaniard could grow into a player who can deliver the final ball or the killer finish that the winger has missed from his game for so long.
