According to Calciomercato, Udinese have put a €20m (£17m) price tag on Gerard Deulofeu, with West Ham interested in bringing him back to the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, it was Calciomercato who revealed that West Ham had made contact with Udinese over a deal for the Spain international.
Now, it seems as if David Moyes has got a response.
The Italian news outlet believe West Ham will have to pay £17m to sign Deulofeu, which is a fair asking price given what Udinese paid.
Back in January 2021, the Serie A side spent €17m (£14m) to sign the 27-year-old from Watford, so they’re only asking for a small profit.
In truth, Udinese could probably demand more, as Deulofeu – who Roberto Martinez once described as “magic” – has impressed since returning to Italy.
After scoring the winner in a 2-1 win over Sampdoria on Sunday, the former Everton man now has eight goals in 23 Serie A appearances this season.
West Ham should’ve signed Gerard Deulofeu in January

In our view, the Hammers should’ve made a move for Deulofeu in the January transfer window.
Since the winter window closed, the Irons have seen their push for a place in next season’s Champions League stall with two draws and a loss in five games.
Moyes also watched his side fall out of the FA Cup at the hands of Southampton, and there is clearly an over-reliance on Michail Antonio in attack.

It would’ve been wise to bring Deulofeu in mid-season to help the Jamaica international, and keep West Ham’s hopes for the season alive.
Now, only time will tell if Moyes can take West Ham beyond Sevilla in the Europe League, and into the top four of the Premier League, with his current options.
