Premier League outfit Crystal Palace have not held talks with Flamengo striker Pedro, a source close to the Brazilian giants tells journalist Jorge Nicola.
The Robin to Gabigol’s Batman at the Maracana, Pedro Guilherme Abreu dos Santos doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
But, after forcing his way into the Brazilian national team and making his Selecao debut in 2020, the talented forward has finally joined his much-admired Flamengo team-mate in the gossip columns.
Guillem Balague broke the news over the weekend, claiming that the £15 million-rated Pedro has plenty of admirers this side of the Atlantic. Premier League quartet Crystal Palace, Southampton, Wolves and Brighton and Hove Albion are interested.
As are Andalusian giants Real Betis and Sevilla.
“I have been told about a new, top Brazilian striker wanted by Premier League clubs,” Balague Tweets.
“Flamengo rejected a 35 million dollar offer from Palmeiras which would have made him the most expensive exchange between South American teams ever.
“Flamengo doesn’t sell to rivals, but would sell to European clubs for around 20 million dollars.”
Is Pedro heading to the Premier League?
But, according to a source close to the 2020 Brazilian Serie A champions, suggestions that Pedro has entered talks over a potential move to Selhurst Park are wide of the mark at this stage.

“There is no contact whatsoever with Crystal Palace,” relays Nicola.
With the summer window now just a couple of weeks away, speculation over Pedro’s future is likely to go into overdrive sooner rather than later. He’s scored 41 goals in the last two seasons, including 23 in all competitions as Flamengo won a quadruple in 2020.
“I respect Pedro and I think he has to leave Flamengo,” says former Brazil ace Ze Elias (ESPN).
“Look for new air and a new motivation. He has to feel important. He is on the preliminary list of the (Brazilian national team).”
