Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer to Franck Kessie, who is also wanted by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, according to Sport.

Sport have reported that Tottenham have made a ‘a very powerful offer’ fo AC Milan midfielder Kessie.

The 25-year-old central midfielder is out of contact at Milan at the end of the season.

Barcelona are also keen on Kessie, according to Sport, who have added that Tottenham managing director of football Fabio Paratici wanted to sign him for Juventus and is now prioritising bringing him to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, Liverpool are reportedly a big threat from the Premier League to Tottenham for Kessie.

Marca reported this week that Liverpool are keen on signing the Ivory Coast international central midfielder on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.

Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool for Kessie?

In our view, Tottenham could have a good chance of signing Kessie ahead of Liverpool if they offer him more money.

The former Atalanta central midfielder – described as a “very special” and “very, very good” player by former Chelsea star Pat Nevin on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport in December 2021 – earns £69,000 per week as salary (SalarySport).

And, in our view, Tottenham would certainly be able to offer Kessie much more than that.

Yes, Liverpool would be able to match it as well, and the Reds also compete for major trophies regularly.

However, Liverpool have a very good strong midfield, and Kessie would have to fight for his place.

Kessie would find less competition for places in the Tottenham team, who could end up in the Premier League top four this season.
