Barcelona have offered Ousmane Dembele to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in a deal to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Camp Nou, according to The Independent (Transfer Live biog, 1pm, January 31, 2022).
The Independent are reporting this afternoon that Barcelona have investigated whether Dembele could go to Arsenal in a deal which will see striker Aubameyang move to the La Liga club on loan until the end of the season.
Barcelona could reportedly struggle to pay Aubameyang’s £350,000-a-week salary in full.
Dembele is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season.
Arsenal should accept Dembele – Aubameyeng swap offer
In our view, Arsenal should accept Barcelona’s offer of having Dembele on loan for the rest of the season.
The France international is a very good attacking player who is rated very highly by former Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.
GiveMeSport quoted the Paris Saint-Germain star as saying about Dembele in March 2020: “His pace is frightening in training.”

Now, if Arsenal manager Arteta does not want Aubameyeng in his team anymore, then it’s fine.
But, in our opinion, the Gunners need to bring in another attacking player to fill the gap.
Dembele is a not a number 9, but he is a wide-player who can play further upfront.
Having Dembele in his squad for the rest of the season would only help Arteta in his squad to get Arsenal back into the Champions League.
