Stade Rennes owner Francois Pinault is urging his Ligue 1 side to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris in a free transfer when his contract ends, according to France Bleu Armorique.
The France goalkeeper has entered the final six-months of his terms in north London and is yet to renew. Antonio Conte is eager for Lloris to agree a new deal with Spurs and continue on past the current season. He is prepared to bet on the shot-stopper to anchor his project.
Conte stated last week, via football.london, his confidence in Tottenham speaking to Lloris over a new contract. The Italian also voiced his belief the goalkeeper wants to stay at Spurs.

But Rennes believe signing Lloris in a free transfer is achievable all the while his contract at Tottenham is expiring. However, his £100k-a-week salary far exceeds their wage structure.
The Roazhon Park leadership have been considering the conditions needed to sign Lloris since last summer. He is the ‘dream’ target of Les Rennais’ owner, Pinault, who has pushed the Brittany outfit for months to make the France captain the marquee of their ambitions.
Pinault wants Rennes to use a free transfer for Lloris when his Tottenham contract ends to show their future targets. He also has support from the club’s coach and technical director.
Rennes move complicated, but Lloris transfer possible upon Tottenham exit
Lloris will be a complicated transfer Rennes but their coach, Bruno Genesio, and Technical Director, Florian Maurice, know the Tottenham goalie from his time at former club Lyon.

Maurice was Lyon’s scout while Genesio managed Les Gones during Lloris’ four-years in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region. However, Nice could prevent a Lloris reunion at Rennes, as Foot Mercato reported last week the Tottenham star is open to a transfer to Les Aiglons.
Lloris is considering calling time on his Tottenham career given his expiring contract, 10-years after a £13m transfer from Lyon. The 35-year-old has 134 clean sheets in 394 games.
