Karim Adeyemi insisted that he feels ‘honoured’ after being linked with a move to Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Premier League giants Liverpool, while speaking to Sky Austria.
During the last two years, perennial Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg have cashed in on Takumi Minamino, Hwang Hee-Chan, Paston Daka, Dominik Szoboszlai and a certain Erling Haaland, making over £70 million in the process.
So, yes, when it comes to buying low and selling high, Salzburg tend to know what they are doing.
19-year-old Adeyemi, the youngest player to score for the German national team since Mario Gotze a decade ago, looks certain to be the next off a prosperous production line, with BILD reporting that Liverpool are one of a number of European giants expressing an interest.
Both Barcelona and Bayern Munich are interested too; a pair of continental super clubs looking to make up for past mistakes.
Barcelona missed out on the chance to sign Adeyemi for just £7 million, while Bayern allowed the teen sensation to leave their academy almost a decade ago due to alleged disciplinary issues.
Could Karim Adeyemi follow in Erling Haaland’s footsteps?
The £17 million-rated Adeyemi scored his 12th of the season during Salzburg’s 3-1 Champions League victory over Wolfsburg on Wednesday night and, while he remains fully focused on his current employers, all that speculation is proving difficult to ignore.
“I’m very relaxed about it, my focus here at Salzburg, but of course I feel honoured,” Adeyemi said when asked about the reported interest of Liverpool, Bayern, Barcelona and co.

“But nothing more. I want to get to the round of 16 with Salzburg and then we’ll look further.”
Adeyemi, who has been implored to stay put by Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle, is not the only Red Bull starlet on the radar of a Premier League club.
Croatia U21 international Roko Simic has admirers at West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur, while Benjamin Sesko is also understood to be a Liverpool target.
