Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Allan Saint-Maximin for Newcastle United against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United at St. James’ Park tonight.
Arsenal fans watching the Premier League game tonight were impressed by Saint-Maximin and want the Gunners to sign the 24-year-old winger from Premier League rivals Newcastle.
Well, some of them anyway, as you can see from the tweets below.
Saint-Maximin was arguably the best player for Newcastle in their 1-1 draw with Leeds at home this evening.
The 24-year-old scored a brilliant goal in the first half and was a constant problem for the Leeds defence.
The Frenchman’s pace, skills, tricks and running caused problems for the Leeds players.
The winger took five shots and four ended on target, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 75%, took 43 touches, attempted two dribbles, and put in one cross.
Could Arsenal end up signing Saint-Maximin?
Well, it is unlikely that Newcastle will sell the Frenchman in the January transfer window.
After all, the Magpies are likely to fight for survival again in the Premier League, and manager Steve Bruce and owner Mike Ashley will surely not want to sell their talisman.
A transfer to Arsenal next summer could happen, assuming, of course, that the Gunners actually wanted him then.
We have to make it clear that there are no credible reports now claiming that Arsenal are interested in signing Saint-Maximin.
