According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal and Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign Houssem Aouar, who is also wanted by Liverpool.
What’s the story?
Well, it was said that Lyon had put Aouar up for sale following their 3-0 loss to Angers on August 15th, as the club were furious with his attitude.
Now, that looks to be true as the reliable Romano reveals that Lyon are offering their No.8 around to two of England’s biggest clubs.
In Arsenal’s case, the Gunners have wanted the 23-year-old ever since last summer, when they saw a £35m bid rejected.
Now, the 1-cap France international – called ‘incredible‘ by Pep Guardiola – is available for just £21.2m, as per The Athletic.
It is said that those at Arsenal recognise what a great opportunity this is, although some concerns arose while scouting Aouar.
Nevertheless, Mikel Arteta and Nuno Espirito Santo now have the chance to sign the Frenchman, if either of them want him.
Liverpool should beat Arsenal and Tottenham to Houssem Aouar

While Romano doesn’t mention Liverpool, it’s safe to assume the Reds wouldn’t have trouble signing a player who’s being offered around.
Lyon are desperate to get rid of Aouar, as they try to recoup some money lost as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Therefore, we believe Jürgen Klopp should go straight in with a bid for the silky playmaker, before Arsenal and Tottenham get there first.
Aouar seems perfect for Klopp’s system. The German has just lost Gini Wijnaldum, a box-to-box midfielder who was great at carrying the ball up the pitch to relieve pressure.

In our view, Aouar can replicate that, as he’s a fantastic dribbler.
According to WhoScored, only Kylian Mbappe has completed more dribbles than Aouar’s 12 in Ligue 1 this season.
This deal would offer Klopp something a bit different in midfield, but also someone who can allow Naby Keita to not be overused, as they are fairly similar players.
With just days remaining of the transfer window, it will be interesting to see where Aouar ends up.
