According to RMC Sport, Leeds and Liverpool might be about to benefit from Lyon’s decision on five first-team players.

What’s the story?

Well, the French club are said to be furious with the attitude of Houssem Aouar, Maxwel Cornet, Rayan Cherki, Islam Slimani and Thiago Mendes following the 3-0 defeat to Angers.

Lyon have already suspended Marcelo, and the aforementioned five players could now leave the Ligue 1 club before the transfer window ends.

It has been said that Liverpool are interested in Aouar.

Elsewhere, Leeds are believed to be keen on signing Cornet, who Burnley have made progress with in recent days.

If RMC Sport‘s news is true, then it provides a real opportunity for Jürgen Klopp and Marcelo Bielsa with just under two weeks of the window left.

Will Jürgen Klopp and Marcelo Bielsa accept this?

Of course, there’s no denying that there’s a huge market opportunity following Lyon’s decision.

However, you have to wonder if Klopp and Bielsa will be accepting of players with a poor attitude.

After all, it was said that Bielsa dropped Pablo Hernandez after he reacted badly to being substituted last season.

Elsewhere, Mamadou Sakho was frozen out by Klopp after a series of ill-discipline, before being sold to Crystal Palace.

As ESPN claim, the Frenchman missed Liverpool’s flight to America, skipped a rehabilitation session and was also late to a team meal.

In that respect, it will be interesting to see what the two Premier League managers prioritise.

A promising signing for a cut-price fee, or maintaining a standard of committed, professional footballers who don’t cause problems?

Only time will tell.
