What’s the story?
SkySport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his website that Fiorentina striker Vlahovic ‘likes’ Tottenham.
Tottenham themselves are keen on signing the 21-year-old Serbia international from Fiorentina in the summer transfer window.
Spanish champion Atletico Madrid want Vlahovic, but they are unable to reach an agreement over a transfer fee for the youngster.
Blow for Arsenal?
Di Marzio’s claim that Vlahovic likes Spurs is a potential blow for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, who have also been linked with the youngster.
The Italian journalist reported earlier this month that Arsenal are looking at making a move for the striker.
What happens now?
Just because Vlahovic ‘likes’ Tottenham does not mean that he will join them for sure.
If Arsenal make a better offer than Spurs and are able to convince the striker why he would be better off at the Emirates Stadium, then a transfer could happen.
However, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun all at Arsenal at the moment, it is hard to see the Gunners sign Vlahovic without selling two of them.
As for Spurs, Harry Kane is the main striker, but head coach Nuno could do with another option.
