Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Ashley Cole held his hands up and admitted he was wrong about Kalvin Phillips.
What’s the story?
Well, the former England left-back took to Twitter before EURO 2020 started to reveal he felt Jordan Henderson was better than Phillips.
Cole showed in a number of tweets that he felt the Liverpool captain was a better fit for Gareth Southgate at the tournament.
However, after Phillips delivered a phenomenal display in the semi-final win over Denmark, Cole has decided to swallow his pride.
Speaking on ITV, the former Arsenal and Chelsea defender said: “I’ll say it live on air, I had to get Kalvin Phillips here and say to him, you know what… big respect.
“I think he’s been tremendous in this tournament, he’s been so solid and integral in this England team. For me that was my little sorry.”
Fair play to Ashley Cole

It takes a big character to admit you were wrong, let alone to do so on national TV in front of millions.
However, that’s exactly what Cole did.
To be fair to him, he still acknowledged that Phillips was a fine player when originally siding with Henderson, and said he loves watching him for Leeds.

In that respect, he never really disrespected Phillips too badly, although it’s pleasing to see that Cole now knows what the 25-year-old offers.
After last night, there will be few people who don’t know what he offers.
Let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about Cole’s U-turn…
