Ashley Cole has praised Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips on Twitter, but he does not think that he is as good as Liverpool star Jordan Henderson.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea left-back has made a series of posts on Twitter explaining what Liverpool midfielder Henderson has that Phillips does not.
Both Henderson and Phillips are part of the England squad for the Euro 2020 finals.
Phillips is a very good central/defensive midfielder who was superb for Leeds this past season.
The 25-year-old is able to hold his own in the middle of the park, has a good passing range, breaks opposition’s plays, and drives the team forward.
Henderson is also capable of doing all that.
The Liverpool midfielder is more experienced and has been a success in the Premier League for several years now.
The former Sunderland star has also won the Premier League title and the Champions League with the Reds.
However, Henderson has had injury problems recently, and there are doubts whether he is fully match fit to stake a claim in the starting lineup at the European Championship.
If Henderson is not able to start England’s first game at the Euro 2020 finals, then Phillips would not be a bad shout at all.
