Arsenal and Bayern Munich will face each other in the last 16 of the Champions League this season.
Arsenal regularly qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League, and this season is no different. The Premier League outfit won Group A ahead of Paris Saint-Germain with 14 points from six matches.
The Gunners, though, have not reached the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier club competition since the 2009-10 season. Could this season be different? Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack does not seem to think so.

Arsene Wenger’s side will take on German giants Bayern Munich in the last 16 this season. The first leg of the tie will be held at the Allianz Arena this month before the second leg at the Emirates Stadium in March.
Former Chelsea and Bayern midfielder Ballack has suggested that Arsenal will struggle to get the better of Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

“Bayern are suited to playing against Arsenal — that’s shown by the results in the past few years,” ESPN quotes Ballack as saying.
“Even though they’ve encountered problems immediately after the winter break, Bayern are clear favourites – especially as Arsenal are not playing well and lost to Chelsea recently.

“Furthermore, Arsenal have always had problems in the past when under pressure to win the big games.”

Bayern have a better team than Arsenal do, and the German giants will head into the tie as favourites. However, if the Gunners are able to score a goal at the Allianz Arena in the first leg and lose 2-1 or 3-1, then they could have a chance of going through to the last eight.
