Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City were all vying for your votes.

The results from HITC Sport’s poll looking for Chelsea’s nearest challengers in this season’s Premier League title race are in. But who did you back to put the most pressure on the Blues this term?

Report: Adam Lallana set to commit future to Liverpool; Dejan Lovren expected to follow

5. Liverpool (4%)

The Reds only pulled in a small portion of the vote, and that is probably down to their recent form, which has seen them fall out of the top four altogether. If this poll was compiled at the end of December when they beat Manchester City, they would surely sit much higher.

4. Arsenal (6%)

Two defeats in two have left Arsenal fourth and pulling in just 6% of the vote. While a loss at Chelsea may not have been that surprising, the manner of it coupled with the previous defeat to Watford has seen the questions about Arsene Wenger’s future begin once again.

3. Manchester United (13%)

Manchester United have not lost in the league since October, and just three times in the top flight all season. Nevertheless, there do not appear to be too many people who are expecting them to rise from their current position of sixth to put pressure on Chelsea.

2. Manchester City (23%)

Manchester City perhaps have the most star-studded squad at their disposal but they were still unable to pull in a quarter of the votes. They have won their last three in all competitions and are just one point off second place currently.

1. Tottenham Hotspur (54%)

More than half of the readers who voted in HITC Sport’s poll believe that Tottenham Hotspur will put the most pressure on Chelsea, and it is clear to see why. Spurs have the best defensive record in the league this season, and have lost just twice all year. With 14 games to go, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will surely be telling his players that the nine-point gap to Chelsea is not insurmountable by any means.
