Liverpool could be boosted by the news that Adam Lallana is set to agree a new deal at Anfield.
A report in the Daily Mail has claimed that Adam Lallana is set to hand Liverpool a major boost by committing his future to the Reds and signing a new deal at Anfield.
Five Premier League left-backs Liverpool could target this summer
Lallana has been sensational this season, scoring seven and contributing seven assists in the Premier League, so it is perhaps hardly a surprise that the Merseyside outfit want to agree an extension on his current deal, which the Mail reports expires in 2019.

And they are set to prove just how valued he is amongst Jurgen Klopp’s side, as the Mail reports that he will move into the same sort of pay bracket as talisman Philippe Coutinho by signing a £150,000 a week contract that will keep him at Liverpool until 2021.
Interestingly, the Mail adds that the Reds plan to follow that deal up by opening negotiations with defender Dejan Lovren, whose contract also expires in just over two years’ time.
The Croatian arrived at Anfield in the same window as Lallana, but has not kicked on in the same way that his former Southampton teammate has.

While he has arguably improved this season, it may be a concern to supporters to see the club hand Lovren a new deal when his existing one still has plenty of time to run.

And news of the 27-year-old signing a new contract will surely not appease supporters if it is not followed by the acquisition of at least one more defender during the summer, given the team’s struggles this term.
