Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will face each other in the Premier League this weekend.

Liverpool will return to action this weekend when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at home in the Premier League. The Reds will face Tottenham at Anfield on Saturday evening.

The Reds have been struggling in recent weeks and appear to be out of the running for the league title. The Merseyside outfit are currently fifth in the standings, as many as 13 points behind leaders Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will head into the match against Tottenham on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Hull City away from home at the KCOM Stadium in the league.

Despite playing at home on Saturday evening, the Reds could struggle against a Tottenham team who have established themselves as the main challengers to Chelsea for the championship.

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, though, believes that the Reds can get the better of Tottenham on Saturday evening. The 26-year-old Netherlands international has pointed out the Reds’ record against big teams.

Since taking charge of Liverpool back in November 2015, manager Jurgen Klopp has lost just once in 15 matches against Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Spurs.

Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum warms up before the game

“To be fair, in the big games it’s been the best kind of football we’ve played this season, so I think it’s easier for everyone to perform in those kind of games,” Wijnaldum told Sportinglife.com.

“I don’t think it’s only me, but the whole team. It makes it easier for me because if we deliver as a team, it is easier for each player to show their quality – and that’s what I’ve had in the big games.

“I’m lucky that I scored important goals in those games. It’s easy to say the performance against big teams (has been good) but I think it is the whole team who performs against a big team.”
