Curtis Woodhouse has claimed on Twitter that Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is not good enough to play for Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester City.

The former Birmingham City midfielder has said that Martinez will not get into the team at Liverpool, City, Chelsea or Manchester United.

Woodhouse has added that the former Arsenal man is probably the best among the goalkeepers who do not play for the Premier League top four.

The Englishman made the comments while pointing out what is going to stop Villa from challenging for the Champions League places in the Premier League table next season.

Woodhouse has also replied to a Villa fan’s response to his tweets, saying that Chelsea or United would not sign Martinez.

Does Curtis Woodhouse have a point?

Liverpool have Alisson and City have Ederson. The Brazilians are arguably the two best goalkeepers in the Premier League.

United have David De Gea and Dean Henderson, while Edouard Mendy has done well at Chelsea.

Martinez was superb for Villa last season. The Argentina international also won the Copa America this summer and was hailed by Lionel Messi.

Regarding Chelsea, United and other top clubs signing Martinez…

Well, they do not actually need to sign a goalkeeper now.

Martinez joined Villa from Arsenal for £20 million last summer, as reported by The Guardian.

The 28-year-old earned the move after playing well in the final weeks of the 2019-20 season.

Clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool do not tend to sign players after a few good performances.

Who knows, if Martinez continues to do well for Villa, then a top-four club could come for him.
