Borussia Dortmund have reportedly joined the likes of Arsenal in the race for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, with the German giants now interested in signing the 20-year-old attacker.

According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga side are eyeing the English-born Albanian international as a potential option to replace Erling Haaland this summer, with fellow Arsenal target Gianluca Scamacca also on Dortmund’s shortlist ahead of the opening of the transfer window.

Whilst Dortmund have already confirmed the signing of Karim Adeyemi, another striker is on the agenda this summer, with the German side now interested in Broja, who could leave Chelsea this summer after an impressive loan spell with Southampton, where the youngster caught the eye of Arsenal.

According to reports, the Gunners are keen on the west London attacker this summer, though with a reported asking price of £58m, Broja is an expensive option for both Arsenal and Dortmund despite their interest in the Cobham graduate.

With Chelsea likely to offload the attacker this summer, though, this fee could easily be reduced, which will be music to the ears for the likes of Dortmund and Arsenal given their interest in Broja heading into the transfer window.

Both clubs are looking for starting strikers for next season, though for Arsenal, they could still be the favourites to land Broja given their financial situation and their current squad only featuring one senior centre-forward in Eddie Nketiah, with Alexandre Lacazette leaving the club at the end of this month.

Arsenal should not fear Dortmund’s interest in Broja just yet

A striker is by far and away Arsenal’s most important priority this summer, and whilst Broja has played just one season in the Premier League, the Albanian international could be a great addition given his style of play and age, anf interest from Dortmund shouldn’t scare the Gunners just yet.

Indeed, Dortmund will unlikely not be able to match Chelsea’s asking price for Broja, and whilst Arsenal would not be foolish enough to also splash out close to £60m for the striker, the Gunners remain in the strongest position to sign the Premier League talent should they look to make a move for the youngster.
