Arsenal would like to sign striker Armando Broja this summer but seemingly fear that Chelsea won’t even consider selling to them.

That’s according to the London Evening Standard, who claim that Arsenal want to sign two new strikers during the summer transfer window.

One of their targets is Broja, who has been shining on loan at Southampton this season.

Broja has hit nine goals in 28 appearances across all competitions this season, proving to be a masterstroke of a signing from the Saints.

Gary Neville has been blown away by Broja, suggesting that he is ‘really, really exciting’ and ‘so smooth’ in the final third.

But what comes next for Broja?

A role in the Chelsea starting lineup next season seems unlikely, but he could offer Thomas Tuchel another option in attack.

Another loan deal shouldn’t be ruled out, and any sale would surely be worth more than £30million given Broja’s huge potential.

Arsenal fancy signing Broja, but fear that any agreement with Chelsea is unlikely to come off.

We have seen players directly move between the clubs; David Luiz, Olivier Giroud and Petr Cech all spring to mind.

Yet in those cases, the players were in their 30’s and not a young player full of potential for the future.

That’s what makes a deal seem so hard to imagine; Chelsea will be incredibly reluctant to lose Broja as it is, never mind if it’s rivals Arsenal who come calling.

Who knows what the future holds for Broja; it’s always hard for young players to break into the Chelsea side but Reece James, Trevor Chalobah and Mason Mount offer hope.

If Broja is to leave Chelsea this summer, we just can’t see a way that Arsenal emerge as his destination even if Edu throws money at the Blues.
