Erik ten Hag has already had his fair share of dressing room drama to handle at Manchester United.
From Cristiano Ronaldo throwing his toys out the pram to his fall-out with Jadon Sancho last season, Erik Ten Hag has not had an easy ride as Manchester United manager.
Yet, he managed to inspire his squad last season to the FA Cup – a feat that saved him from the sack.
United’s new owners have now put their faith in Ten Hag with a contract extension, but the spotlight is still very much on him.
Pre-season hasn’t gone exactly to plan with Rasmus Hojlund and new signing Leny Yoro struck with serious injuries, while a 3-0 loss to rivals Liverpool didn’t fill supporters with confidence.
The last thing Ten Hag needs now is for a player to make headline-worthy comments, but that’s exactly what Andre Onana has done.

Andre Onana comments at Manchester United
After his £44million move to Old Trafford last summer, Onana started shakily at Old Trafford with a number of mistakes proving costly in the Champions League.
The Cameroon international grew into the season and ended in fine form, but his willingness to take risks at the back often had fans biting their nails.
In an interview with The Telegraph, he has told fans to brace for even more risks this season – “I think it’s what you’re going to see this season because I will take a lot of risks,” he said.
“I can tell you in advance already! Be prepared because it’s going to be this season, trust me! I will enjoy it even more when this season starts.”

Speaking on ESPN, former Liverpool player Don Hutchison has slammed Onana for his comments and suggests that Ten Hag will be fuming.
“It’s ridiculous, that’s what that is. What benefit do you get from that if you are Andre Onana?” Hutchison said.
“If you are a centre-forward now – say you are a young and naive player, because experienced players will have already worked him out in his second season – if you are closing him down and Onana is about to do a trick, you aren’t going to buy it.
“You are going to stay on your feet and just rob him of possession.
“So I imagine Ten Hag is thinking ‘what on earth have you said that for?’
“The player doesn’t get any benefit other than self-confidence so it is a ridiculous statement – so poor.”
