Manchester United confirmed that Erik Ten Hag has finalised his new contract at the club and he will be backed up next season by club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Now United have officially confirmed the deal with Ten Hag committing to a new deal until 2026.

Erik Ten Hag signs Old Trafford extension
United moved to tie down Ten Hag to a new deal after the club’s end of season review came to the conclusion that they should stick with the Dutchman, after also holding talks with other candidates including Roberto De Zerbi and Thomas Tuchel.
After it was confirmed that he would be staying Ten Hag made it clear to United he wanted a new deal put in place, and minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe sanctioned the contract.
Speaking of his new deal, Ten Hag told United’s official website: “I am very pleased to have reached agreement with the club to continue working together. Looking back at the past two years, we can reflect with pride on two trophies and many examples of progression from where we were when I joined.
“However, we must also be clear that there is still lots of hard work ahead to reach the levels expected of Manchester United, which means challenging for English and European titles.
“In my discussions with the club, we have found complete unity in our vision for reaching those goals, and we are all strongly committed to making that journey together.”
Ruud van Nistelrooy returns to Manchester United
Ruud van Nistelrooy has been in talks about a move to United to join Ten Hag’s coaching team and HITC can confirm that talks have seen an agreement reached.
Van Nistelrooy had been approached by Championship outfit Burnley amongst but we understand he has decided against a move to Turf Moor and now he is set to return to Old Trafford.
The 48-year-old has been out of working since last summer when he departed PSV Eindhoven, despite winning the Dutch Cup.
United are understood to be hopeful of confirming Van Nistelrooy’s arrival next week when the club are due to return for pre-season training. Any players not on international duty this summer are expected to return on July 8th.
